Bathroom Renovation Questions
A standard bathroom renovation typically takes 2 to 4 weeks. A master bath with a custom tile shower, freestanding tub, and layout changes may take 4 to 6 weeks. Small powder room updates can be completed in under two weeks. We provide a specific timeline during your consultation based on your project scope and material lead times.

The bathroom being renovated will not be usable during construction. If you have only one bathroom, we work quickly and strategically to minimize the time it is out of service. If you have multiple bathrooms, the others remain fully accessible throughout the project. We always discuss this during planning so you know what to expect.
Porcelain tile is the most popular choice for showers — it is water-resistant, durable, easy to clean, and available in an enormous range of sizes, colors, and textures. Large-format tiles (12x24 or larger) create a sleek, modern look with fewer grout lines. Smaller mosaic tiles work well on shower floors for better traction. We carry a full tile selection in our showroom and our designers can help you find the right combination for your space.
Yes. Walk-in showers, rain shower systems, steam showers, freestanding soaking tubs, and built-in tubs are all part of what we do. We also install WiFi-enabled shower heads and in-bathroom audio. We carry fixtures from Maidstone, Toto, American Standard, Moen, Kohler, Delta, Brizo, and Huntington Brass.
Yes. We have converted closets, basement spaces, and underutilized rooms into fully functional bathrooms. Our Oaklyn project is a good example — we transformed a second-floor closet into a luxury spa bathroom. Adding a bathroom where one does not exist requires plumbing rough-in and possibly structural changes, which we handle in-house.
Yes. F&S is a full-service contractor. Plumbing, electrical, tile, cabinetry, flooring, and trim work are all handled by our team. You do not need to coordinate separate contractors for different parts of the project — we manage everything from start to finish.

Basement Redesign Questions
A typical basement finish takes 6 to 10 weeks depending on size and complexity. A basic open-concept recreation room is faster. A basement with a bathroom addition, custom bar, media room, and multiple defined spaces takes longer. We provide a detailed timeline during your consultation based on your specific project.
Basement finishing costs typically range from $25,000 to $75,000 depending on size, finishes, and what you are building. A straightforward open recreation room is on the lower end. A basement with a custom bar, bathroom, media room, and premium finishes is on the higher end. A finished basement typically recoups 70% or more of its cost in added home value.
Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) or Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) is the most popular choice for basements because it is 100% waterproof, comfortable underfoot, and available in dozens of wood and tile looks. Engineered hardwood is another option if moisture levels are controlled. Porcelain tile works well in basement bathrooms and wet areas. We do not recommend solid hardwood for basements due to moisture sensitivity.
Yes. Adding a full or half bath to a basement is one of the most popular additions we handle. It increases the functionality of the space significantly and adds meaningful home value. Basement bathroom additions require plumbing rough-in — we handle all of that in-house as part of the overall project.
In most cases, yes. Finishing a basement typically requires building permits for framing, electrical, and plumbing work. We handle the permitting process as part of your project. Working without permits can create problems when you sell your home, so we always do things properly and by the book.
Most building codes require a minimum finished ceiling height of 7 feet for habitable basement space. Some areas allow 6'8" in certain conditions. If your basement has low ceilings, we will assess what is possible during the consultation and discuss options like dropped ceiling systems or beam treatments that can work with your existing height.
Absolutely — custom home bars are one of our most popular basement projects. We design and build custom bar cabinetry, install stone countertops, add beverage refrigeration, and create entertaining spaces that become the focal point of the basement. Flooring Questions
For overall durability and practicality, Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) is hard to beat. It is 100% waterproof, scratch resistant, comfortable underfoot, and holds up extremely well in high-traffic areas. Porcelain tile is also extremely durable and is ideal for wet areas. Solid hardwood is durable but can scratch and is not suitable for moisture-prone areas like basements or kitchens near the sink.
LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) comes in long rectangular planks designed to mimic hardwood flooring. LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) comes in square or rectangular tile formats designed to mimic stone, ceramic, or porcelain tile. Both are 100% waterproof, highly durable, and available in dozens of realistic designs. The choice between them is primarily an aesthetic one based on the look you want for your space.
Solid hardwood is generally not recommended for kitchens or bathrooms due to moisture sensitivity — it can warp, swell, or cup if exposed to water. Engineered hardwood is a better option for kitchens as it has better dimensional stability. For bathrooms, LVP or porcelain tile are the most appropriate choices. We can walk you through the right material for each room during your showroom visit.
A single room typically takes one to two days to install. A full first floor or whole-home flooring project takes three to five days depending on square footage, the material chosen, and whether subfloor preparation is needed. Tile installation takes longer than vinyl or hardwood due to setting and curing time.
Yes — the rooms being installed need to be cleared of furniture before our crew arrives. We can discuss the logistics of this during your consultation, especially for larger whole-home projects where you may need a plan for moving furniture room by room as we work through the house.
In some cases, yes. LVP can often be installed over existing vinyl, tile, or concrete as long as the subfloor is level, clean, and in good condition. Installing over existing flooring raises the floor height slightly which can affect transitions between rooms. We assess the existing conditions during your consultation and recommend the best approach for your situation.
We carry Mannington, Bruce, Eastern Flooring, Mercier, and Lauzon for hardwood and engineered wood. For LVP and LVT we carry Mannington, Qualis Ceramica, Eastern Flooring, MSI Surfaces, and Dixie Home. For porcelain tile we carry Eleganza, Happy Floors, Merola, Florida Tile, American Olean, Marazzi, Chesapeake, and Daltile. For carpet we carry Masland and AtHome. We are licensed in New Jersey (NJ License #13VH07413800), Pennsylvania (PA License #PA090085), and Delaware (DE License #2015100550). We are fully bonded and insured. We have completed projects in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia as well.
Yes, if that is your preference. Our designers can work directly with your client on material selection, design decisions, and product questions. Alternatively, we can stay entirely in the background and work through you only. We adapt to whatever arrangement works best for your business and your client relationship.
Yes. We can provide detailed 3D renderings and panoramic virtual walkthroughs of the proposed design. These are especially helpful for closing sales with clients who need to visualize the finished result before committing. Renderings can be viewed on a computer or smartphone and are provided as part of our design support services.
Yes. We can arrange curbside delivery to your job site. Cabinetry is available as either RTA (Ready to Assemble) or RTI (Ready to Install) depending on your preference and timeline. We coordinate delivery scheduling around your project calendar.
Yes. We remain available after installation to answer any questions from you or your install crew and to resolve any issues that arise. You will receive detailed schematics, elevations, renderings, and design notes as part of our package. Our goal is to make sure both you and your client are completely satisfied.
Yes. For a reasonable fee, we will arrange to measure the job site directly. We find that on-site experience gives us a much better understanding of the space — including existing limitations, opportunities, and anything that might affect the design — which results in a more accurate plan and fewer surprises during installation.
We carry a full range from import to full custom domestic lines — including Nations, CNC, Forever Mark, J&K, 21st Century, Dream Craft, Crestwood, and Cubitac. Both RTA and RTI options are available. We recommend the right line based on your client's budget, timeline, and design preferences.

Our showroom is located at 603 Haddonfield-Berlin Road, Voorhees, NJ 08043. Ample parking is available right outside our office. We are open Monday through Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm. Sunday we are closed.
We serve all of South Jersey including Camden, Burlington, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland, Atlantic, Ocean, Cape May, and Mercer Counties. We are also licensed in Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, and Bucks Counties) and Delaware. We have completed projects in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia as well.
